The alchemical process for turning lead into gold

Well, no, not really. I've just been informed that it's about time I updated; hmm, I suppose that's true.

There was an eclipse of the moon the other night, which I was informed of while at a rather entertaining function. I left the function room, to observe it from the steps of the building, where many people were talking / inhaling from cylindrical carcinogenic materials. After a while, they fell silent as they wondered what it was that the curious-looking fellows were staring at, up in the sky. Contrary to popular superstition, there were no supernatural occurences coinciding with the event, but it was somewhat preternatural, an occasion worth commemorating.

The picture is, incidentally, available in several different flavours. Most onlookers weren't quite impressed by the series of people jumping on the wall to have their photo taken with the more visible of our two natural satellites (yes, we have another, discovered about 10 years ago - it's called 'Cruithne', which is an Irish word, apparantly; I have to find out what that means some day).

The title! I saw on the tv yesterday that somewhere in India in a Jain temple few silver idols have turned into gold, overnight! hehe
The eclipse well .. it occurred on Sunday night when I was wrapped in a blanket reading something and was too lazy to catch a glimpse ..
It looks really kewl in the picture .. Is that you ?

hmm, i'm not too sure about siver turning to gold; even in holy places. just think what that could do to the world economy...
was the eclipse visible in New Delhi? it must have been eary in the morning by the time it occurred. i don't blame you for staying put :).
it was moderately pretty, though a few passers-by were too apathetic to even crane their heads upwards, or perhaps they thought it was a distraction technique so i could relieve them of whatever valuables they had secreted about they person.
Indeed, that dubious-looking character would be my good self.

Ohh yeah ..superstition .. there were many naive devotees who were convinced that it was a 'miracle' but I said that in jest coz the title of your post reminded me of those frenzy scenes.
Yup the eclipse was visible here .. in the morning ..I'm told .. it was around 4:30am ..
Btw I would rather call the dubious looking character .. quite good-looking :D

Aye of course, i hadn't you pegged as a naive devotee ;).
Naturally, the dubious-looking character would prefer you called him that aswell, but i would caution you that if the picture had been taken a few minutes prior, the protagonist would have had a more lupine character.

or perhaps not a wereWOLF so much as one of the Bradypodine family, as shown in my profile. i only mutate from this form during a lunar eclipse and, possibly, daytime; though since i'm largely nocturnal, this possibiility hasn't been fully explored.

wouldn't I love it if lead could be turned into gold, without using more gold than the amount that would be made! hehe. I love writing because I get to pause to think over my words, and act like it only took me a second to figure them out and what they mean & everyone thinks I'm great or something. lol.
I'm kind of off topic, aren't I? whatever. cool post. I love the idea of alchemy, but I think it's a waste of time. oh! that reminds me! have you ever read 'The Alchemist'? If you haven't then you should. If you have, then completely ignore the last three sentences and continue thinking that I am a graceful and elegant individual. lol. :D

graceful, elegant, and proleptic. welcome to my err...i don't like the word 'blog', so i'm going to say 'domain'; perhaps punctuated with an evil laugh.

ah, how remiss of me - no, i haven't read 'The Alchemist', though i've heard of it
